Cheese potato tots or cheese tater tots are a snack widely liked in America by the masses. It is a very tasty and quick-to-cook snack which is loved by both kids and adults equally. Frozen tater tots are readily available in market in bulk, however, the homemade version is unbeatable.
So without much adieu let’s us look at the list of ingredients needed for making yummy cheese tater tots.
- 4 big potatoes (peeled)
- 100g grated mozzarella cheese
- 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 medium onion
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tbsp dried oregano
- 1/4 tbsp dried basil
- salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh coriander leaves
Parboil all the potatoes in a big saucepan for about 6-7 minutes. Now, finely grate potatoes and onion using a box grater. Using a fine cloth squeeze out all water from the shredded potatoes and onion. Transfer the contents into a mixing bowl. Add mozzarella, all-purpose flour, garlic powder, dried oregano, dried basil, salt and black pepper. Mix the content through. Form potatoes into tots. Take vegetable oil in a wok and allow it to heat on a medium flame. When the oil is hot, fry tots 5-6 at a time till they are evenly golden brown in colour. Transfer the golden baby tots to a paper towel lined plate or basket.
Garnish the tater tots with chopped fresh coriander leaves and serve it hot with tomato ketchup.
