Coconut chutney is a very crucial part of any South Indian cuisine. It just does not serve as a taste enhancer but is also a rich source of some essential minerals like potassium, iron, magnesium and carbohydrates.
To prepare tasty coconut chutney you need:
2 Green chilies
1 tbsp vegetable oil
Salt to taste
1/2 tbsp mustard seeds
1 tbsp curry leaves
2 dried red chilies
1 tbsp split Bengal gram (chana dal)
Shell out coconut and cut it into small pieces. Grind coconut and green chilies in a grinder.
Take a pan and heat 1 tbsp vegetable oil in it. Add mustard seeds, chana dal, dried red chilies and curry leaves. Once mustard seeds start crackling shift the contents from the grinding jar to the pan. Turn off the flame. Add salt to taste and mix the chutney well.
Delicious coconut chutney is ready to be savored!
